ANNUAL LOWCOUNTRY DOG MODEL CONTEST IS OPEN FOR ENTRIES

YOUR CHANCE TO ENTER YOUR DOG TO BE IN LOWCOUNTRY DOG’S 2023 CALENDAR OR THEIR VERY OWN MAGAZINE COVER.

Number one question asked is, "How do I get my dog in Lowcountry Dog Magazine?" Now is your chance! Lowcountry Dog’s Spring Model Contest has been extremely popular for more than 12 years and has evolved into how the Lowcountry Dog Calendar Models are chosen, as well as finding that one dog to grace the cover of the magazine!

What makes a good dog model?  Alyssa Helms, Social Media Manager for Lowcountry Dog states, “Some dogs just have that ‘it’ factor, but a dog who is good off leash, attentive and motivated to please make the best models. Whether you are a purebred, rescue, puppy or a senior, all dogs are welcome to enter, we are always looking for talented dogs to showcase.”

Entries are accepted online through March 31st by going to Lowcountrydog.com/modelcontest. There is a $5 fee and you may only enter ONE dog PER entry. Recently-taken, clear photos that show the dog’s face and their modeling ability (if any) are recommended. Those who enter must be in the Lowcountry or willing to travel if needed for photoshoots. We will also be taking in person entry photos on April 9th, at our Lowcountry Dogapalooza Festival at Hanahan Amphitheater. Entry fees collected go to help rescue efforts in the Lowcountry.

Out of all the entries, 50 dogs will be selected by judges to receive a professional photoshoot with Southern Vintage Photography. (The cost of this shoot is $20 but you will receive one hi-res digital image for your use!) Those 50 professional photos will go out for the popular vote on Lowcountry Dog’s social media in June of 2022.

The finalist with the MOST popular votes from Top 50 will receive a cover shoot in the August 2022 Issue of Lowcountry Dog Magazine. The top 12 dogs will be 2023 Lowcountry Dog Calendar Model and receive another professional photoshoot from Southern Vintage. Full rules and details can be found at lowcountrydog.com/modelcontest.
