Lowcountry Dog's 2nd Annual EAT, DRINK & RESCUE
Lowcountry Dog's 2nd Annual Eat, Drink & Rescue featured 7 local rescues, 6 of whom were LCDM Rescue Spotlight's for 2016. The event was hosted at Smoky Oak Taproom on James Island.
We were blown away by the incredible response from the community at our second annual Eat, Drink, & Rescue! What a great way to start out the new year!
I think I can speak on behalf of all the rescues in attendance when I say a hearty THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! The way the Lowcountry rallies around the care of animals speaks to the heart of this place. I am so proud to live in a place with people who care so deeply about these amazing loving animals.
At the final tally, you guys raised $2800 for the rescues across the Lowcountry!!! It means so much to see this kind of support and participation! More than 500 dog lovers from all over the Lowcountry and even some out of state readers were there on such a perfect Carolina afternoon. Wow. Just wow!
Each of the rescues had adoptable dogs on site and many found their forever homes as well as recruitment of much needed foster homes!
Our PICK A PRIZE raffle had 11 awesome prizes raising $1200. We sold over 1,500 tickets to the raffle, way to go you guys!
Our awesome event sponsor, Tito's Handmade Vodka served up drinks outside making sure everyone was having a really great time while listening to live music from Sunflowers and Sin and Pinkerton and the Brinks. And on tap were three great local breweries Natty Greene's Brewing, Hi-Wire Brewery, and Elysian Brewing. The adults weren't the only ones having fun, the kids were entertained by a cool inflatable obstacle course to run through (that made me wish I were shorter so that I could take a run through. It was so cool!) and of course everyone enjoyed the legendary Smoky Oak bbq!
