Editorial Submissions

Lowcountry Dog does not accept unsolicited manuscripts; we work from a query basis only. We cannot be responsible for unsolicited materials. We can not guarantee that unsolicited manuscripts will read or that we will respond.

Please submit queries by email, attaching word and or rich text files only. If possible, include information on previously published work and a resume. Email the query to leah@lowcountrydog.com.

The query should convince us to say yes. It should offer a well-focused idea, descriptive information about how you plan to pursue the topic and a preliminary idea of who the sources will be. Just as important, the query should demonstrate your writing ability. Background information and writing credentials should be included.

If we accept your proposal, we will ask you to submit the article on speculation. Again, articles should be submitted by email.

Compensation will be discussed after the proposal is accepted and varies from project to project. Some projects are provided to Lowcountry Dog on a PR basis only; other projects are paid. If a payment arrangement is agreed upon, we pay after publication.
