Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Zoe Grace

I am the proud owner of a female Yorkshire Terrier named Zoe Grace. Zoe turned 3 years old in April. My most memorable moment with her is when her Momma (breeder) told us she came with a story when we were walking out the door after purchasing her. She was afraid to tell us because she didn't want us to think there was anything wrong with Zoe.

When Zoe was 2 months old she drowned in the backyard pond. Momma (breeder) found her stiff, floating and not breathing. She scooped her up, called to her husband, blew in her nose/mouth and pleaded with God to bring her back. After a few minutes, Zoe's tongue moved and within 24 hours she was perfectly normal. The vet gave her a clean bill of health! We named her Zoe because it means "life" and we know God gave her life back so we could enjoy her. She weighs 2 lbs and both of her parents weigh 4 lbs so she is not a Toy. She is just a one of a kind!!

Zoe loves to go out front and visit with the neighbors and their dogs. She is very friendly and loves to give kisses. She is a pretty mellow dog; she doesn't say a lot but will "talk" to us if we get her going. When we brought Zoe home, my husband said "No dogs in my bed" but I guess he didn't really mean it because she has been there every night and loves to snuggle up to "Daddy's" back for the night.

She has brought us so much joy and we love to take her everywhere we can. She also loves to ride on the bicycle with us. We hope to enjoy many many years with her and look forward to sharing her with others.
