Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Linus

My dog's name is Linus. He is a 1 ½ year old male Poodle. There are so many memorable moments with Linus but most recently we were volunteering at the local Ronald McDonald House and a little girl asked Linus to “get on” a giant stuffed horse and he happily complied. She then proceeded to drag the horse around the house with Linus on top while singing, “Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up, let’s go…”. It was a priceless moment that I just happened to catch on video! You can see it on Linus’ Facebook page: www.facebook.com/littledoglinus

Linus is a certified therapy dog and genuinely enjoys visiting with people in need. He’s also a trick dog and enjoys learning new skills and entertaining a crowd. Beyond that, he can’t resist a good puddle – the muddier the better. I would describe Linus as trusting, jovial, goofy, smart, and a little bit demanding. If he isn’t ready for you to stop petting him, he will pull your hand right back to him.

Linus has opened my world up to so many fantastic experiences and people. He makes me laugh every day but what I’m most proud of is Linus’ ability to change the lives of other people and animals. People stop us everywhere we go and he’s fast developing a strong Facebook following. We are able to use these connections to advocate for Therapy Dog programs, Spay/Neuter programs, and rescue/shelter organizations.
