Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Decoy

Decoy, is a male, yellow Labrador Retriever bred right here in Charleston, S.C. He's going on 8 months now and is completely full of himself! One of his most favorite things to do is play with my miniature horse, Tonka. Tonka is only 34" so Decoy thinks he's just a weird dog. He loves going in the boat and riding in his daddy's big truck.

Decoy does a lot of funny things throughout the day. Working in a vet clinic and seeing other animals come in and out all day, Decoy has a blast and the doctors I work for love him. No one can believe that he's only 8 months because behavior when we go to work is outstanding.

However, the funniest thing he's done in a while was in the back of his dad's truck. We were at St. Johns Yacht Harbor and went to have a few drinks with some friends. We left our 8 year old chocolate Lab, Capers and Decoy in the bed of the truck. I looked down to check on him and he was on the ROOF of Joey's f250 barking! It was pretty comical. The owner of the bar told me to bring him inside; after that Decoy sat in the bar chair at the marina greeting anyone and everyone that walked by and even sneaking a sip of beer from my friend Daniel's glass!
