4th Annual Dog Day Afternoon

Event date:
Sunday, September 9th, 2012 at 12:00pm

When humans try to beat the heat, we are able to escape to area beaches and waterparks. But what about man’s best friend? On Sunday, Sept. 9, dogs will get their day at the waterpark at the 4th Annual Dog Day Afternoon.

On that special day, Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park opens its doors to canines, and the waterpark will truly “go to the dogs.” Large dogs can romp around in the 27,000-sq. ft. Big Kahuna wave pool, while smaller pooches can make a splash in the refreshing Otter Bay kiddie pool. To be fair to these special canine guests, owners will not be allowed in the water. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at park concession stands, for cooling down the humans.

Advance admission is $10 per dog ($8 per Charleston County dog) and owners are free with their pets. Tickets are limited, so get yours today! If available, tickets sold on the day of the event will be $10. Proof of your dog’s current vaccinations is required for entry to the event.

This event will mark the final day that a Charleston County waterpark is open. Whirlin’ Waters closes for the season to humans on Sept. 3. The 4th Annual Dog Day Afternoon is Sunday, September 9 from 12 - 5p.m. at Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark in North Charleston.
